After an autopsy on a Sequim man who drowned while surfing Nov. 27 near Joyce, the death was ruled as accidental with no evidence of trauma, Clallam County Deputy Coroner Nathan Millett wrote in an email on Dec. 7.

Gabriel Conners, 32, was found about 50 yards offshore Crescent Beach Road.

Other surfers brought him to shore despite difficulty due to the rip currents, according to Fire District 4 Chief Greg Waters.

Firefighters tried to revive him but were unable to do so, Waters said.
