Sustainable gardening practices explained

 

WSU Clallam County Master Gardener Program Coordinator, Dr. Muriel Nesbitt,WSU Clallam County Master Gardener program coordinator, discusses basic sustainable gardening practices that are good for the environment and for the gardener at noon Thursday, June 28, in the county commissioners meeting room of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Her presentation covers maintaining good soil, raising disease and insect-resistant varieties, composting, mulching and reducing impact on the environment. Nesbitt received her Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Washington; she taught biology at the University of California San Diego and directs the local Master Gardener training program.

 

The presentation is free and attendees may bring a lunch.
