Tall ships return to P.A.

Public sails and walk-on tours of the brig Lady Washington and the topsail ketch Hawaiian Chieftain will be available in September at the city dock on West Railroad Avenue and North Lincoln Street in Port Angeles.

Lady Washington will open for walk-on tours from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 1-2; noon-4:30 p.m. Sept. 3; and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 4-6.

Hawaiian Chieftain will open for walk-on tours from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 6; 10 a.m.-

6 p.m. Sept. 7-10; and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 11-12.

A $3 donation per person is appreciated during all tours.

Adventure sails are at 10 a.m. Sept, 5, 11-12 on the Hawaiian Chieftain.

Tickets are $55 adults, $45 students/seniors/active military and $35 children 12 and under.

Three-hour battle sails, featuring live cannon fire (with blanks) and close-quarters maneuvers, are

2 p.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 4-5. Tickets are $60 adults, $50 students/seniors/active military, $40 children 12 and under.

A three-hour evening sail on the Lady Washington is at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3. It includes a sea shanty, maritime storytelling and a chance to experience life aboard a tall ship. Tickets are $35 per person.
