TAX-AIDE is looking for new volunteers to prepare federal income tax returns for the upcoming tax season. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.

TAX-AIDE volunteers provide free tax return preparation and electronic filing for low- and middle-income members of their community. The TAX-AIDE program is sponsored by the IRS and the AARP Foundation.

You don’t need to be an AARP member or retiree to volunteer, or to receive tax preparation services from AARP TAX-AIDE.

Training begins in December, using training materials and software provided by the IRS. All volunteers must attend training classes and pass the IRS Test before assisting taxpayers during the tax season.

If you have basic computer skills, enjoy preparing income tax returns, and enjoy helping others, this could be a perfect volunteer opportunity for you.
