Truck collides with light pole near downtown Sequim

A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday night, May 6, after he struck a light pole near downtown Sequim.

Sequim Police Sgt. John Southard said the man was driving east on the 400 block of West Washington Street around 7:30 p.m. when he attempted to pass a vehicle and struck a parked car and a city light pole.

The roadway was closed as debris was spread across approximately one city block, he said.

The man was booked into Clallam County Jail for suspected DUI-alcohol at 12:42 a.m. May 7, and released on bond at 12:56 a.m. May 8.

Cost of damages was not available by press time.
