Two young adults were injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center after their vehicle plunged into a ravine near the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and White Feather Way on Monday.

A little after 2 p.m. on Feb. 24, Fire District 3 personnel responded to the single vehicle crash. According to the fire department, the vehicle struck an embankment on the south side of the highway and plunged about 30 feet down a ravine.

The first arriving units found two patients that had been assisted up the ravine by bystanders. A 22-year-old male was treated for minor injuries and an 18-year-old female was treated for serious injuries. Both patients were transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles for treatment.

Washington State Patrol, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and Sequim Police Department members were on scene investigating the cause of the accident.

Traffic eastbound was temporarily diverted to the center turning lane to avoid the emergency vehicles working on the shoulder of the road.
