Susan Fisher is the interim CEO for the United Way of Clallam County as the organization moves to a formal search for a permanent executive, board president Jo Johnston announced in late October.

Fisher is a retired credit union executive and 37-year resident of Alaska with a long personal history of involvement in nonprofits and faith-based organizations. She and her husband Michael Ellis, a lifelong Alaskan, moved to Port Angeles in early August.

Johnston said that Linty Hopie, the UWCC Board vice president, will lead the search for a permanent CEO and that Fisher will not be a candidate.

Hopie expects to advertise the CEO position in early December, including posting on the national United Way website.

Madeleine Burns is now the bookkeeper for United Way of Clallam County. She is former finance director for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation.
