The project to widen US 101 from two lanes to four from Shore Road to Kitchen-Dick Road will require a traffic shift, the Washington state Department of Transportation said Thursday.
Beginning at about 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, crews will begin to shift US 101 onto a mile-long segment of the new highway between Kitchen-Dick Road and Cliff Robinson Road. Traffic impacts should be minimal.
The work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled to a later date.
The traffic shift is needed as crews will begin earth moving and culvert related work on the existing roadway.
Substantial completion of the project is expected by late summer. At that time, crews will conduct final paving.
