Once again, Christmas is coming a little early for the Sequim Community Aid organization — about 10 months early.
With proceeds from its 27th annual concert and several other donations, the 8888888888Sequim Community Christmas Chorus has raised $2,000 that was donated to Sequim Community Aid last week.
Chorus members raised funds through 2011 concert ticket sales and contributions from local businesses, organizations and individuals, including $500 from Sound Community Bank and $100 from The Co-Op Farm & Garden.
Sequim Community Aid helps people in crisis survive by providing emergency aid for families and individuals within the Sequim School District. Sequim Community Aid, founded in 1947, continues to provide assistance, such as one-time help with utilities or rent, when people’s most basic needs for daily living are in jeopardy. It is an all-volunteer organization and does not maintain an office.
Gary McRoberts has directed the Sequim Christmas Chorus since 2006. The chorus, founded in 1984, is open to singers of all backgrounds, religions and levels of experience.
