Volunteer hospice group offers series on community education, training

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering a six-week series on Community Education and Volunteer Training in Sequim, from March 17-April 21, every Friday from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the PUD Facility, 104 Hooker Road, Carlsborg.

The series provides a history and overview of hospice, the philosophy behind Volunteer Hospice, explores grief and the dying process, and offers basic hospice volunteer training for those interested.

The program is free and open to the public but registration is required as group size is limited.

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County provides free services to terminally ill patients and their families with registered nurses and trained volunteers. Volunteer positions vary greatly, from providing respite to caregivers and companionship at the bedsides to answering phones in the office, to delivering medical equipment and more.
