With the Sequim Lavender Festival fewer than three months away, hundreds of volunteers are being solicited to pull off another festival July 17-19.
Applications and information can be obtained by calling the festival office 681-3024 or by going online.
New this year, the online application may be filled out at the festival Web site, www.lavenderfestival.com. Volunteers can input their information and preferences on the new applications or request a paper application be mailed to them.
A brainstorming and recruitment meeting will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the Sequim High School cafeteria. This meeting’s goal is to share ideas on how to improve the festival and learn what the Sequim Lavender Festival is about.
Veteran volunteers may bring new recruits and receive extra chances at door prizes.
The festival would not be possible without hundreds of volunteers who contribute to the community celebration. Volunteers sell farm tour tickets, distribute programs, help with hospitality, work on the production crew, assist at the farms on tour, and more.
The Sequim Lavender Festival has been named one of North America’s Top 100 Events by the American Bus Association and is the largest lavender event in North America, making Sequim the Lavender Capital of North America(r).
