Wilder Auto Center of Port Angeles has donated a 2006 Lexus GS300 to Peninsula College’s automotive technology program.

Dan Wilder Jr. made the presentation to Peninsula College president Dr. Thomas Keegan on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Students will begin working on the Lexus after the fall 2009 quarter begins on Monday, Sept. 21.

According to college automotive instructor Mike Hansen, the car, with only 1,200 miles on it, is the newest one donated to the department.

"Our students will have the opportunity to work on a vehicle with the latest automotive technology," Hansen says.

"We will use the car mostly for second-year students’ advanced training in onboard computerized navigation, digital speed sensors, antilock brakes and direct fuel injection."
