Winter “Nash Cash” program introduced

From Dec. 1, 2011, to March 31, 2012, customers of Nash’s Organic Produce will be able to buy products grown on Nash’s farm at a 10-percent discount when they purchase a “Nash Cash” card for $270. The card will be valued at $300 and will function like a running tally — as the customer makes purchases, the total changes until the $300 is used.

Instead of a weekly Farm Share Box, the new Nash Cash Program offers Nash’s peninsula customers the opportunity to visit the markets and store for products grown on the farm, pre-purchased at a 10-percent discount.

Nash’s anticipates  having carrots, beets, parsnips, turnips, sunchokes, rutabagas, leeks, grains, freshly ground flour, pork and field peas through March, with greens available in November and December.

The Nash Cash card can be used at the Port Angeles Farmers Market on Saturdays; Nash’s new farm store at 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday; or at Olympic Medical Center (east entrance) 2:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Nash Cash cards can be purchased online at www.nashsorganicproduce.com, at farmers markets, by calling Sid Maroney at 681-6274, or by calling Nash’s Farm Store at 683-4642.
