Woodcock, Kitchen-Dick area water users should boil before drinking

The state Department of Health is advising customers of The Estates water system in Clallam County to boil water before drinking due to a reported E. coli contamination.

The advisory affects about 350 homes near the corner of Woodcock and Kitchen-Dick roads near Sequim. The Estates water system managers are working with the state to find the contamination source and fix the problem.

No illnesses have been reported, according to a state news release.

Customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice or preparing food.

The state will have its newest tests either Wednesday afternoon or early Thursday, which will determine if the advisory will be lifted.
