Wreck on Hood Canal Bridge injures three

Several Olympic Peninsula residents were involved in a four-car collision on the Hood Canal Bridge on Dec. 23, with one resident from Port Townsend and two from Kirkland transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment of injuries.

Several Olympic Peninsula residents were involved in a four-car collision on the Hood Canal Bridge on Dec. 23, with one resident from Port Townsend and two from Kirkland transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment of injuries.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Sean M. O’Donnell of Port Townsend was traveling westbound on state Route 104 on the Hood Canal Bridge when it crossed the center line and struck three other vehicles.

Drivers of the struck vehicles included Rebecca D. Reed, 28, of Sequim (uninjured), William K. Chaney, 27, of Port Angeles (uninjured) and Christopher R. McVicker, 37, of Kirkland (injured).

A 2-year-old boy in McVicker’s vehicle also was injured and transported to Harrison Medical Center for treatment.

Cause of the crash was still under investigation at press time.

The roadway was blocked for about 40 minutes.
