Alice Lynn Barnett

1944 – 2025

Alice Lynn Barnett, 81, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, California, surrounded by her loving family. She had been under the compassionate care of hospice following a brief illness.

Alice was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Betty Lou (Myers) and Arthur Reasor. In 1956, at the age of 12, her family relocated to California. She later attended 4Cs Business College in Fresno, California.

In 1960, Alice married Jerry James Hawkins, who sadly passed away in 1961. In 1966, she married her beloved husband, James C. Barnett. Together, they built a home in San Jose, California, where Alice worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company and later with Milpitas Unified School District while raising their three children.

In 1991, Alice and Jim fulfilled their dream of retiring to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, settling in Sequim, Washington. Alice found joy and purpose volunteering for Hospice of Clallam County and the American Heart Association. Thirteen years after Jim’s passing, she moved to Rancho Santa Fe, California, in 2022 to be closer to her grandson Daniel and her children.

Alice, who was endeared by the nickname “GG”, loved her family deeply and cherished every moment with them. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, playing bingo, and visiting with friends. Known for her warm heart, infectious humor, and the best jokes, she was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeri and Willie Guerrero of Hanford, CA; her son, Kevin Barnett of Hanford, CA; five grandchildren: Michael (Alicia) Barnett of Geneseo, IL, Daniel (Rachel) Price of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Monique (Kevin) Patterson of Hanford, CA, Erica (Dan) Anderson of Annawan, IL, and Melissa Guerrero of Hanford, CA; and nine great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Landon, and Lane Barnett; Cash and Sawyer Anderson; Katalaya Muldrow; Amelia and Alice Price; and Luna Barnett.

She is also survived by her brother, Gary Reasor of Brush, CO, and her four loving nieces: Phyllis (Josef) Waechtler of Magna, UT, Terrie (John) Carr of Battlefield, MO, Jaime Myers of Madera, CA, and Claudia (Todd) Griffin of Heber City, UT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Betty Lou Reasor; her husband, James Clifford Barnett Sr.; her son, James Clifford Barnett Jr.; and her aunt, Betty Jane (Myers) Golf.
