David Jay Roberts

June 24, 1954 – February 7, 2016

David Jay Roberts, a 61 year old resident of Sequim, Washington, passed away at his home February 7, 2016, due to heart disease.

He was born to Donald J. Roberts and Violet Irene (Robinson) Roberts on June 24, 1954 in Tigard, Oregon.

The family moved to the Olympic Peninsula in the mid 1960’s to farm and David attended Sequim schools; graduating from Sequim High School in 1972.

He was employed as a welder, millwright, carpenter, farmer, volunteer fire fighter, mechanic and talented musician.

David is preceded in death by his father Donald, mother Violet and brothers Dale and Donald.

He is survived by nephews Don Roberts of West Seattle, Mak Roberts of Sequim, and Justin Roberts of Shoreline; nieces Hilary (Jim) Steeby of Sequim, Mariah (Dee) Butters of Seward, Alaska, and Barb Barnard (Todd) of Eugene, Oregon; grandnephew Cole Steeby of Sequim; grandnieces Abby Lowe (Mycole) of Decorah, Iowa and Kalee VanWyck of Eugene, Oregon; great grandniece Claire Jevne of Decorah, Iowa, his stepmother Sue Roberts of Darrington, WA; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a date yet to be

announced.
