Doris E. Nelson

June 23, 1917 – February 2, 2016

Former Sequim resident Doris E. Nelson passed away February 2, 2016, at Edmonds Landing Assisted Living residence where she had lived since 2012.

Born June 23, 1917, in Fremont, Michigan, to Frank and Jena Holler, she graduated from Fremont High School and began work at Michigan Bell Telephone Company.

After marrying Rudy Larsen she moved to Grant, Michigan, where her three children were raised. She was active in Eastern Star and Grant Congregational Church and played piano for several musical programs. Rudy died in 1972. Retiring after some thirty plus years with Michigan Bell in Fremont, Grant and Grand Rapids, she married Keith Potter and they moved to Sequim in 1979. While residing at Dungeness Meadows she enjoyed her many years of involvement in Eastern Star, Sequim Community Church and Telephone Pioneers of America.

After losing two husbands, she was most fortunate in finding love a third time, marrying Harry Nelson in 1993. They had thirty wonderful years together before his passing in 2013.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in

death by her two sisters, Bonnie Nelson of Sand Lake, Michigan and Wadea Brink of Phoenix, Arizona.

Doris is survived by her three children, David Larsen of Tennessee Colony, Texas; Tim (Jeanne) Larsen of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Carol Muma Stone of Portland, Oregon; as well as eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. At her request, no service was held.Remembrance to Hospice or Sequim Community Church.
