Maxine Mildenberger

Maxine Mildenberger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Olympic Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband and partner since 1987, Andy Mildenberger; and their two children, Courtland and Kylee Mildenberger. She is dearly missed by her mother, Verla Hanway; and four siblings, Marlo Fazio, Francis Hanway, Regina Hopkins; stepsister, Delsa Lawson; and many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and close family members, as well as all of her friends.

While we grieve for our loss of her, we are comforted to know that her passing has reunited her with her beloved father, who passed in 2004.

She was born on September 15, 1966, in Tacoma. Maxine was the oldest of four children to Francis and Verla Hanway. The Hanway family lived on the Wind River Reservation in Riverton, Wyoming, until relocating to Sequim, Washington, in 1978.

A devoted mother, spouse, sibling and relative, Maxine served as a light and support to her family and friends, always gracing others with her infectious smile and laughter.

She enjoyed returning to the reservation during hunting season and other important gatherings, keeping the connections alive with the Wyoming family and family living in Washington.

The celebration of Maxine’s life will be held on Sunday, March 16, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Jamestown S’klallam Tribal Center in Blyn. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
