Nancy Jane Dinan

October 25, 1932 – October 24, 2015

Nancy Jane Dinan, a resident of Sequim, Washington, passed away October 24, 2015, a day before her 83rd birthday.

She was born to Willard Newton Grabill and Audrey Edna Swingle in Kansas City, Missouri on October 25, 1932.

She married Wesley Roy Forney November 4, 1950 in

Couer d’Alene, Idaho. They divorced in 1971.

She then married James P. Dinan February 14, 1981

in Sequim, Washington.

Mrs. Dinan attended both Yakima and Seattle schools

and was a graduate of Highland High School, Cowiche, Washington. She then attended Central Washington University.

She farmed with her first husband; was a rural newspaper carrier for the Wenatchee Daily World; worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Sun Valley Implement in Quincy, Washington; owned Nancy’s Hallmark Shop Junior Boutique in Sequim, Washington; and with her second husband, owned The Junior Boutique and Thurston’s Apparel in Sequim.

Nancy loved music and loved to sing. She was active in the Sequim Community Choir, The Oldtime Fiddlers and was the Choir Director for (as well as a member of) St. Joseph’s Parish for many years.

She also served on the Sequim City Council.

She is survived by her son Ronald Forney and step- son John Dinan, both of Sequim; and daughter Virginia (James ”Moe”) of Sequim.

She is preceded in death by her parents Willard N. and Audry E. Grabill; sisters Lois Day and Shirley Perkins; brother Willard N. Grabill; husband James P. Dinan; ex- husband Wesley R. Forney; daughters Morea J. Forney and Christine Zobel; son Wesley “Rick” Forney and step-sons James P. Dinan and Jeremiah Dinan.

Rosary will take place November 16, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at St Joseph’s Parish, 121 E. Maple St., Sequim, Washington, with Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father Dennis Robb. Reception to follow in the lower level of the church.
