Larry Gordon Livingston

December 27, 1945 March 24, 2022

Larry Gordon Livingston was born in Port Angeles, December 27, 1945, to Karl and Glenna Newlun Livingston, he joined his sister Karen and later came a second sister, Kay. The family moved into the home Karl was building after Kay was born. It was a small dairy farm in Sequim, where Larry was taught how to work. His jobs on the farm were milking cows in the early morning before and after school, birthing calves, moving sprinklers, harvesting hay, building fences, and picking rocks. Living on a farm is knowing there are always projects. There was never a dull moment. He found work on other farms in the area as well.

He graduated from Sequim High School in 1964, with 64 graduates in his class. He married Linda Tisdale, July 30, 1966. Two sons and two daughters made their family complete. Larry later bought the home his dad built from his folks for his own family. He called that house home for over 55 years, raising his own family there, (and more than a few other generations have lived there, too). Larry was local to Sequim and never lived outside of Clallam County all his life.

His first job, aside from farming, was for Del Guzzi Construction. A year later he went to work for Crown Z and stayed at that job for over 40 years. He started working the grinders first and finally retired in 2005 as a journeyman millwright. Neighbors, classmates, and the men he worked with all those years, created many lifelong friendships. He was blessed to have a close-knit church family and his best friend was our Pastor, Rich Hay. Over the years, they spent many hours watching sports and old car restoration shows.

His interests were simple: his faith in Jesus Christ, our large family, making mama happy, and his beautiful green lawn. He was a problem solver. Finding solutions for any project before him was a challenge and showed his great wisdom. He was also a great cook and a whiz at cribbage.

His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were a source of pride and joy to him. Larry was such a special person in their lives as well. We are grateful he passed from this life at his childhood home, a place he wanted to be and loved most, with family around him on March 24, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Linda, son Donald (Robyn) of Olympia, son William of Georgia, daughter Eleana (Bret) Christianson of Sequim, and daughter Elizabeth (Peter) Joers of Port Angeles. 15 amazing grandchildren and 9 (soon to be 10) also amazing great grandchildren. His sister Karen (Gary) Nelsen of Gresham OR and sister Kay of Vancouver WA.

He would want you to know that his God was faithful and good to us, especially through the struggles and setbacks over the years. His ever-growing faith in Jesus Christ and prayers from so many were a source of strength for him, in these last three months.
