JoAnne Helen Shearer of Port Angeles died of multiple medical complications over several years on April 7, 2023.

She was 73.

Shearer was born Aug. 10, 1949.

A family memorial gathering will be held at Ocean View Cemetery later this year.

Sequim, Washington – Anne Hazel MacDonald Olson passed from this world to be reunited with her husband of 59 years on Friday, March 24, 2023 with her sons, Eric and Todd by her side.

Anne was born the second of two daughters on October 10, 1939 to Farquhar and Mary Ann MacDonald in Glasgow, Scotland. Anne grew up in Glasgow, Scotland and, at age eleven immigrated to Victoria BC with her family.

She graduated Esquimalt High School in Victoria in 1957 after which she worked at St. Joseph Hospital in the office. Anne later met and married her soul mate, Robert Manley Olson, on November 30, 1963. They started their life together in

New Orleans, LA where their first son, Eric Sven, was born. In 1970 they moved to Torrance, California where their second son, Todd Olaf, joined the family.

They raised their sons in Huntington Beach, CA where they lived until they retired and moved to Sequim, Washington in 1997.

In 1984, Anne became a proud citizen of the United States. She worked in accounting at Pacifica Hospital in Huntington Beach, CA and then at Rockwell in Downey, CA as an insurance adjuster.

Anne is survived by her two sons: Eric (Maria) Olson and Todd Olson. She was the heart of her home and family who love and miss her greatly.

At Anne’s request there will not be a memorial service. Those who wish to honor her may make a donation to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
