Gladys Marie Maybee of Port Angeles died of age-related causes at Highland Court Memory Care on July 3, 2022.

Maybee was born Feb. 16, 1930.

Florence Pauline Rhoads

August 9, 1921 – June 25, 2022

Florence Pauline Rhoads passed into eternal life on June 25, 2022 at the age of 100.

The second of 10 children born to Grace and John Rotter, she was the beloved wife of John (1923-2005), much loved mother of Robert Rhoads and Carol Ann Jaenisch, mother in law to Patricia Rhoads and Ron Jaenisch, and grandmother to Marina Washington, Mary O’Brien, Emily Rhoads, Richard Jaenisch and David Jaenisch, as well as 7 great grand children and one great great grandson.

Florence was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, AAUW, The League of Women Voters, and the National Association of Registered Parliamentarians.

She had both a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in political science, served multiple terms on the City Council for the City of San Mateo, California and three terms as Mayor.

A memorial Eucharist will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 18 at St. Luke’s Church, 525 N. 5th Ave., Sequim, and a service with placement of ashes at 2:00 on July 23rd at The Church of the Transfiguration, 39th Ave. and Alameda De Las Pulgas, San Mateo, California.

Phyllis Louise (Faulk) Meyer

Phyllis Louise (Faulk) Meyer, Wife, Mother, Grand-mother, Business Owner, lifetime volunteer passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with friends and family by her side.

Phyllis was born on June 2, 1951 in Port Angeles, grew up in Blyn and is a lifelong resident of Sequim. Phyllis graduated from Sequim High School in 1969.

Phyllis had a heart for children, raising biological, adopted and foster children.

Throughout her life she served her community by volunteering at schools, serving as President of Sequim Youth Soccer, Soccer and Softball Coach, Sequim Alumni Association, Irrigation Festival Ditch walker and Royalty Mom. One of Phyllis’s recent passions was volunteering at the Salvation Army and the naming of Myron’s Field. Phyllis married her High School Sweetheart, Don Meyer, in 1970 and raised eight children. Phyllis started and ran a business, Sequim RibbonArt with her sister. Known for her sense of humor, Phyllis was happiest when she was spending time with her best friend, Linda Watters, reading, gardening, crabbing, traveling, cooking and baking for her grandkids.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Don Meyer, Mother, Mayme Faulk; siblings, Les, Janice Cook, Eddie, Robbie, Mickey and Billy (Faulk). Children; Corey (Rachel) Meyer, Keri (Jason) Whitmore, Stacy (Roy) Umana, Kelsey (Kevin) Mecseji. Grandchildren; Kevin, Kelly, Tyanne, Cole, Alex, Selina Meyer; Evan, Hanali, Haiden Umana; Kason, Junior Mecseji. Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Meyer and father, Phil Faulk.

Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her son, Kevin, at the Zaccardo Family Cemetery in Blyn. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on July 29, 2022 at Dungeness Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or St. Jude’s.
