Jolonda Munson
December 15, 1938 – May 8, 2025
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
— Matthew 25:23
On May 8, 2025, Jolonda Munson of Sequim, Washington, peacefully completed her earthly journey and entered the eternal joy of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by the love and prayers of her family at her home. She was 86.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Sequim Bible Church. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Born on December 15, 1938, to Joseph and Opal (Fenton) Schmidt. Jolonda was raised on a farm in Wolf Point, Montana. In 1946, her family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where she spent most of her life. She met the love of her life, Douglas Munson, at Lewiston High School. Their 70 years together reflected Christ’s love—steadfast, sacrificial, and full of grace. Together, they raised three children—Tammy, Sheree, and Stephen—in a home grounded in faith and love.
Jolonda’s life was rooted in her relationship with Jesus. She was a woman of Scripture, prayer, and quiet strength. Her home was a place of peace and refuge, marked by warmth, kindness, and deep spiritual wisdom.
In her later years, Jolonda faced blindness and dementia with remarkable grace. Even in suffering, her faith never wavered, and she continued to inspire those around her with dignity and trust in the Lord.
Jolonda is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas Munson; her children, Tammy (husband Brent) Bringle, Sheree (husband Rob) Herrmann and Stephen (wife Kristine) Munson; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many others touched by her life and faith.
Though we grieve her loss, we rejoice in knowing she is now fully restored, rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. The race is finished, the faith kept, and Heaven has welcomed a faithful servant home.
