Lincoln “Link” Noble Verstegen

Lincoln Noble Verstegen passed away on April 4, 2021, in San Jose, California, at age 58. Having lost his parents, Susan (Crampton) and Lincoln Noble, as a child, and having been cared for by his grandparents, Jack and Grace Crampton, Link was then adopted and raised by his maternal aunt and uncle, Carol and Aubrey Verstegen, of Sequim.

As the middle child of five, Link spent many happy years growing up in Sequim, enjoying the freedom of Sunland before its development as a golf course. He was a bright student, an avid reader, and a skilled pianist, and was fluent in Spanish. He was active in the school sports program, proud to be on Sequim’s championship teams. In his adult life, he maintained his love of sports, mainly skiing, beach volleyball, and ice hockey.

After graduating from Sequim High School in 1980, he attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and graduated with majors in computer science and electrical engineering. After completing his military service, Link joined Cisco as a software engineer and later held other Silicon Valley positions, including network architect and VP Sales Engineering.

Link is survived by his beloved son, Lukas; parents Aubrey and Carol Verstegen; brothers Mike (Micheleen), and Mark (Amy) Verstegen; and sisters Lori (Frank) Ryan and Erica (John) Beyer.

A family service will be held at a later date.
