Sequim resident Joan Komendant died Nov. 28, 2016, in Sequim at the age of 71 after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. She was a prolific quilter and loved to cook and travel. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Lloyd Komendant and her daughter Stacey Komendant. No services were planned. She was born Oct. 2, 1945.
