Gloria K. Runyan

Gloria K. Runyan of Sequim died of age-related causes on Sept. 23, 2019, at Sherwood Assisted Living in Sequim. She was 94.

Runyan was born Jan. 22, 1925.

William Richard Klock

William Richard Klock of Port Port Angeles died of lung cancer at his Port Angeles home on Sept. 25, 2019.

He was 81.

Klock was born Feb. 17, 1938.

Mary Sue Whatley Jones

May 16, 1929 – September 18, 2019

Mary Sue Whatley Jones, born May 16, 1929, in Pisgah, Alabama, passed away peacefully September 18, 2019, of natural causes.

Mary Sue was the youngest of nine children and the last of that generation.

She and her husband, “Bim” Jones, owned and operated the Pensa Cleaners for 47 years, in Sequim. After Bim’s death, Sue began working at Graysmarsh Farm, for several years,. in the U-Pick Berry Stand.

Always with a smile and a friendly attitude, Sue was happy to find a new purpose after closing their business.

Sue belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Sequim, the Order of Eastern Star Pilgrim Chapter 157 and was a Charter Member of Chapter EP PEO, an International Sisterhood promoting women’s education.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Soloman Huel Whatley and Sarah Pearl Thomas Whatley; all of her siblings, sisters, Ista Lena Whatley Broadway and baby Sarah, and all six brothers, Howard, Walter, William, Paul, Thomas and Glen Whatley; her husband, Bernard Marvin Jones.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jones Range and spouse Elmer Range; grandson, Jeffrey (Tanya) Range; her great granddaughter, Emma Rose Range and great grandsons, A,J. Block and Caden Block.

Sue enjoyed gardening and hiking with her beloved “Goat” Girls and golf. She is loved dearly and will be missed and forever in our hearts!

Richard Peter Cullinane

Richard Peter Cullinane, 77, of Sequim, surrounded by those he loved, passed peacefully away September 4. He was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, to Elvy and Dorothy (Buonomo) Cullinane.

A graduate of Arlington High School, Pete was a lifelong lover of, and participant in, all aspects of “The Arts.” His own art, music and unique sense of style entertained and created lasting memories for all. Patrons of the Metropolitan Opera and the San Francisco Opera, as well as audiences for numerous motion picture and television shows, enjoyed Peter’s work on stage and screen. He eventually operated his own painting and design business before finally retiring and moving to Sequim.

Peter is survived by his husband, Bruce Paddock; his niece, Lara (Eddie) Smith; his great nephew, Sebastian Smith; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul Cullinane.

A memorial service celebrating Pete’s life, will be held Saturday, October 5th, 1 PM – 4 PM, at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim. Friends and associates are invited to provide memories, anecdotes and photos about Pete that can be shared with others.
