Shelly Drabek
December 12, 1962 – November 30, 2025
Shelly Jean (Haugland) Drabek is now free from the constraints of this world and was able to leap into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 30th, 2025, at the age of 62 years old.
Shelly’s faith and the peace that comes with her relationship with Jesus helped her endure a diagnosis of MS at the age of 18.
Shelly was born in Honolulu, HI to Kieth and Laurene Haugland as the oldest of four children. After her father had completed his military service, the family moved to Peoria, IL where her brother, Craig, and sister, Cherie, were born. The family then moved to Federal Way, WA where Dina, the youngest of the
clan, was born. The family then moved to Sequim, WA where Shelly attended Sequim Middle and High School and upon graduating in 1981, she chose to move to Colorado Springs where she attended and received a degree from Pikes Peak Community College. She met Charles, her future husband of 41 years
while attending Northeast Bible Chapel and married him at Holy Trinity Church in Port Angeles, WA on June 9th, 1985. The newlyweds decided to make the Olympic Peninsula their home and eventually ended up raising their three children, Trent, Stephanie and Anthony, in the home that the Haugland family built in the 1970’s.
Shelly had loving memories of family trips back to North Dakota where she was able to spend time on her grandparents’ farms near Crosby, ND and learn about the family history and develop relationships with the family back there.
Shelly had a sweet, gentle spirit that reflected her love for the Lord, her family, and friends. Shelly attended Fairview Bible Church for 38 years and served in various capacities while she was physically able. She served on the Deaconess and Preschool Board as well as taking on many other roles in her acts
of love to glorify God. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, auntie, niece, friend, and will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Jan. 24th 11:00 am at Fairview Bible Church, 385 O’Brien Rd. Port Angeles, WA.
Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Fairview Bible Church Preschool in memory of Shelly.
