Terry Wayne Fouts August 24, 1960 – May 13, 2025

Terry Wayne Fouts, LISCSW 64, of Sequim, WA

Left this earth on May 13, 2025, 10:05 am at UW Medical Center. His death was unexpected and was due to respiratory issues which caused his heart to fail during a procedure. He was surrounded by his family before he died and knew how much he was loved. Terry joined his life with Vickie in 1994. They were married on March 15, 2011, on Orcas Island in Washington. Together they raised 4 children and 2 grandsons. Terry had a lifetime of achievements but considered his family his greatest ones.

Terry was born on August 24, 1960 in Litchfield, Illinois.

After graduating from high school Terry attended SIU graduating with honors. He went on to receive his Master degree from Washington University in St, Louis, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Terry was constantly learning in his life and took continuing education beyond what was required to be a better therapist and human. Although Terry was not in the military, he did work for the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and several Veterans as a Therapist and had the highest respect for their service.

Master Terry was the Supervisor for the Jamestown Behavioral Health Center when he passed and had worked tirelessly to advocate for his clients and his staff. Putting people’s mental health over profits all while running the program and carrying a full caseload of clients.

Terry graduated from The Center for Native American Indian Studies and worked with native populations whenever possible. Tribes include the Cherokee, Lenape, Kickapoo, Iowa Sac and Fox, Potawatomi, KIC- Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Lower Elwha and Jamestown. He worked for Community Connections which was a child-based program for foster kids and troubled youth. While at KIC he managed the Social Services department until someone could be hired. He said doing therapy was easier.

Terry also was an adjunct professor for University of Kansas, Pittsburg State University and Labette Community College.

Terry loved music and kitchen dancing was done often in our home. He was an avid reader, sometimes reading 2 or 3 books at a time. He loved the outdoors but did not like the bugs trying to eat him. Terry was a dedicated family man and most of his free time was spent with us. We are so thankful for his time. Terry was a member of The First Lutheran Church, Ketchikan but was more comfortable crawling into a sweat lodge than a fancy church. He was a member of the Alaska Native Brotherhood and enjoyed talking to elders of any tribe.

Remaining to cherish Terry memory are wife Vickie, daughters, Samantha, Alyssa, Jordan, Son, Wilson. Grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Shawn, Jolie, Roe; Sisters Tammy, Cindy, Brother Tom. His nieces Angie, Brandy and Terri held a special place in his heart, but he loved all his nephews and nieces. Grandsons Jonathan and Jacob were the light of his life.

Preceding Terry in death were his daughter Nichole and brother Charles and parents Evelyn and Charles.
