The female reporter apparently asked the President of the United States a question he did not like. I wish I heard it all, but I heard enough to know it related to the Epstein story.
You know the story of Epstein and his lady friend Ghislaine Maxwell inviting young women into his place with promises of being surrounded by luxury, the famous and who knows what else that turned out to be at the cost of providing sexual favors to all sorts of men, some of whom were well known politically or otherwise.
The descriptions I heard made me think of entitled men being “serviced” by young women in an exclusive club. According to reports, the women were young. Some had gone on the street in their early to mid-teens.
Any participation here at any level by an adult male is wickedly abusive and in most cases criminal if for no other reason than the female’s age.
The President’s problem is that he is known to have been in Epstein’s place and corresponded with Epstein in language that could be taken as at least knowing about the activities of the place even if not participating.
Obviously, he was not the only one. None of the many men who enjoyed the “pleasures” of this place thought to report the abuse of young women.
Apparently, the President’s way of handling a very sensitive topic potentially involving him is to call the female reporter who questioned him “Piggy.”
He is apparently a man of few words if that is the best he could do.
I have personal experience with being called “Piggy.” My 11-year-old brother called me, his chubby 8-year-old sister, “Piggy.” It was not a term of endearment.
Nor was it for the President. I do not know what the reporter’s weight or look was, but it does not matter. The President chose to humiliate the reporter, a woman when she asked about men exploiting women.
Perhaps it was a demonstration.
Regardless, that was bad any way one looks at it. I could not see the reporter in the clip, but I could see he moved to loom over her.
Beyond the junior high school behavior, I do not think the President of the United should be so thin-skinned.
I also think our President’s likeability and image would improve if he developed a sense of humor.
Now, I may be selling him short in the humor department. I just have not heard him express it if he has it.
Maybe he will relax a bit now that he is doing something he really likes.
President Trump is remodeling the White House to include a ballroom and paving over the Rose Garden.
I feel sad about part of the White House being demolished but I am not averse to modernization. Though, the change does have the feel of aggrandizement as in purposefully glorifying. There is a lot of gold being brought and plastered on walls.
The President has a fondness for being surrounded by gold. The interior of the oval office appears to be trimmed in gold — yes, gold. Trump is rumored to have a gold toilet but that may not be true.
If it is true, I would say it is over the top or a bit “hoggish” — or some might say “piggy.”
It makes me wonder if he is planning to stay in the White House for a long time and is just making it comfortable.
If he does stay, I think we would be best off by allowing him to remodel other national landmarks and let someone more capable and interested run the country.
Although, we would have to be comfortable redoing some of our iconic statues in dress with more refinement and perhaps chip off Lincoln’s beard.
