‘Our bar is set high, but that’s how we like it’

How Sequim’s Team McAleer reached the pinnacle of RE/MAX real estate world-wide

As the leader of Team McAleer, with Sequim’s RE/MAX Prime, Michael McAleer has been ranked near the top of RE/MAX brokers worldwide since 2003 in terms of production.

Last month, he took that achievement one step further. The RE/MAX Circle of Legends and Hall of Fame member earned RE/MAX’s Pinnacle Award, presented to the top 1 percent of RE/MAX agents in North America.

What set an already incredible record over the top in 2025? “We have some great new people and we’ve streamlined some systems, but really it’s longevity. We do a good job and people here know it. It’s one of the main reasons I love doing business in a small town – reputation really matters and how you treat people matters. That’s been really rewarding.”

The seven members of Team McAleer share complementary skills, including four buyers’ agents – Trina Jackson, Tiffeny Amundson, Dotty Armbright and Sarah Aschim – and licensed realtors Debbie Swanson and Devon Beck, who work with Michael on the listing side.

“I’ve really enjoyed mentoring. I had a really great mentor in my dad and it’s been great to pass along the McAleer approach,” he says. “My greatest trick has been to attract really talented, kind, smart people. Our success has allowed us to put money and resources into lifting up young people and those in need here in Sequim. My team loves that we give back like we do. We love this community. It really is a special place and I just feel so fortunate.”

Making white-glove service even better

Together, the team finds new ways to hone one of the most important intangibles in real estate: service.

“All of our clients receive white-glove service, but we wanted to do even better – we wanted to see how we could up our game even more in that regard,” Michael says.

The approach underscores Michael’s approach not only to business but to life generally. “This is the long game – we’re not here for the short-term reward,” he explains.

After all, “satisfied” isn’t the goal: “We want raving fans. Our bar is set high, but that’s how we like it.”

Michael lives that in and out of the office, serving seven years as president of the Sequim Association of Realtors, and volunteering in various roles with local education and youth sports associations – an effort to make an already great community a little bit better.

“It’s grassroots – in a smaller community, you can really make a meaningful difference,” he says.
