The Wolves kept their cross-peninsula rivals at bay for a couple of innings, but Port Angeles’ big bats struck for a six-run third inning and the host Roughriders came away with a 10-0, five-inning win on April 11.

Ezra Townsend went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBIs while Payton Cagey drove in two and Beckett Jarignan doubled twice for the Riders.

PA starter Ethan Flodstrom held Sequim to just two hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking just one.

Connor Bear and Brayden White had singles for Sequim.

Bear tossed four innings, giving up nine runs — just two of them earned, thanks to four Sequim miscues — while striking out three.

Spartans, Warriors stymie SHS bats

Bainbridge made it a season sweep with a 17-1, five-inning win over visiting Sequim on April 14, scoring 10 runs in the fourth inning.

J.R. Ritchie paced the Spartans with a double, home run and 4 RBIs, as Bainbridge tallied 11 hits and six walks. Three Bainbridge pitchers combined to shut out the Wolves, striking out seven.

Ayden Holland had both of Sequim’s hits, one of them a double.

Sequim also dropped an 11-1 decision at home on April 15 to 1B Crosspoint Academy, a team led by former Sequim High sports standout Derrin Doty. Details were not available at press time.

Sequim (0-8 in Olympic League, 1-11 overall) was slated to host Bremerton on April 19; results were not available at press time.

The Wolves are at North Kitsap on April 21.

Sequim hosts North Mason on April 27 and play at Kingston on April 27.
