Baseball: Wolves can’t keep early lead, fall to Knights

An early lead for the Wolves slipped away in an 11-7 home loss to Bremerton on April 19.

Kai Urrutia drove in four runs as the Knights took advantage of nine walks and six Sequim errors.

The Wolves, who led 4-2 after two innings and plated three runs in the seventh to close the gap, were led by Connor Bear’s 3-for-4 day at the plate.

Toppy Robideau tossed three-and-two-thirds of relief and gave up two hits and three unearned runs while striking out four. He also drove in a pair of runs.

Zac McCracken and Ricky Jennings also had hits for the Wolves.

Sequim (0-9 in Olympic League, 1-12 overall) was scheduled top play at North Kitsap on April 22 and host North Mason on April 25; results were not available at press time.

The Wolves are at Kingston on April 27, and host Olympic on April 28 and Port Angeles on May 2 before finishing the regular season at Mariner High School in Bellevue on May 3.
