Basketball: Frank’s Edward Jones takes city hoops title

Frank’s Edward Jones edged Carlsborg Shell 69-64 to take the Silver Division of the Port Angeles City and Parks & Recreation men’s league title on Feb. 25.

Sequim High grads Nick Camporini (26 points) and Frank Catelli (12) led the way for Frank’s Edward Jones in the title game. Derek Schumacher of Port Angeles had 19 points for Carlsborg in the loss.

In other Silver Division action Arrow Marine Services — backed by Caleb Treider’s 30 points — knocked off Black Diamond Electrical, 110-73. Ben Shamp had 21 points for Black Diamond.

In the Gold Division, 7 Cedars Casino edged Anytime Fitness-Sequim 65-59 on Feb. 25 to knot the series at 1-1. Kasey Ulin (24 points) and Leo Gonzales (13) paced 7 Cedars, while Sequim’s own Chad Copeland (20 points) and Jayson Brockelsby (14) led the way for Anytime Fitness.

In Bronze division play,Joyce Generals topped Petersen Rebar Placement 84-68 on March 4 for the division title, getting 24 points from Steven Rogers. Woody Stangle led Petersen Rebar Placement with 26 points.
