Basketball: Sequim hoops team takes ‘Tipoff’ title

The Sequim Next Level Basketball Team, featuring several members of the 2014-2015 Sequim High varsity squad, swept aside the competition at the Port Angeles Parks & Recreation’s Tipoff Tournament last weekend.

They’re just getting warmed up.

The Sequim Next Level Basketball Team, featuring several members of the 2014-2015 Sequim High varsity squad, swept aside the competition at the Port Angeles Parks & Recreation’s Tipoff Tournament last weekend.

In the championship, Alex Barry scored 22 points, Peyton Glasser had 17 and Dusty Bates chipped in 13 as Sequim knocked off Port Angeles, 70-53.

Girls sixth-grade division — 1. Huskies (Poulsbo), 2. Clallam Bay Bruins, 3. S.K. Lady Gators (Port Orchard), 4. Port Angeles Fivers, 5. P.A. Sixers, 6. Tacoma All-Stars, 7. Neah Bay Lady Reds. Championship: Huskies 26, C.B.Bruins 10

Girls eighth-grade division — 1. Moppcity (Port Orchard), 2. Lady Reds (Neah Bay), 3. Port Angeles Storm, 3. Olympic Avalanche, 3. North Kitsap Elite. Championship: Moppcity 48, Lady Reds 28

Boys sixth-grade division — 1. Port Angeles Green, 2. Sequim Wolves, 3. Port Angeles White, 4. Blue Devils (Poulsbo), 5. Sonics (North Kitsap). Championship: Port Angeles 38, Sequim Wolves 31.

Boys eighth-grade division — 1. Youth For Success (Seattle), 2. Owls Elite (Olympia), 3. Toledo, 4. Port Angeles Green, 5. NSE Titans (Lake Stevens), 6. Port Angeles White, 6. Sequim Wolves. Championship: Youth For Success 61, Owls Elite 60

Boys varsity division1. Sequim Wolves, 2. Port Angeles, 3. Jammin’ (Kent), 4. Neah Bay. Championship: Sequim Wolves 70, Port Angeles 53.
