Two Sequim bowlers are headed to the 1A/2A state tourney this Friday in Tukwila after big games at districts.
Seniors Victoria Nava and Skylar Krzyworz both made it to state as individual bowlers on Feb. 1 in Lakewood.
They were among five Wolves to qualify including Keira Morey, Cooper Hiatt, and Kimberly Heintz.
Nava earned the eighth seed by bowling 446 with games of 93, 170, and 183, and Krzyworz earned the 10th seed bowling 440 (141, 149, 150). They’ll bowl Feb.7 at Bowlero in Tukwila.
Head coach Randy Perry said Nava was hitting the pocket but seeing a few splits.
”Her ball wasn’t finishing, she kept working on it, and it paid off,” he said.
Port Angeles placed fifth as a team with 2,722 pins. Klahowya took first as a team with 3,101 pins.
