Bowling: Wolves place fourth at league finals

Sequim sophomore Anastasia Updike placed sixth and junior teammate Madison McKeown was 11th as the SHS Wolves’ bowling team capped the team’s shortened 2021 season at the Olympic League finals on June 10 in Silverdale.

Sequim placed fourth out of five teams with a combined 2,442 pins in five games.

State and league powerhouse Klahowya took top honors with 3,239, followed by class 3A Central Kitsap (2,931), Olympic (2,536), Sequim and Bremerton (2,299).

Updike had Sequim’s top individual game at league, bowling a 169-pin fifth game. Morgan Tate bowled at 149-pin fifth game and McKeown racked up a 141-pin third game.

Also competing for Sequim were Gabby Mattern-Hall, who posted a 120-pin game, and Emily Green, who had a 110-pin game.
