Facing two bigger schools, Sequim’s boys basketball squad came away with a pair of losses Dec. 26 and Dec. 27 at the Tournament of Champions Holiday Classic in Seattle.
Sequim plays an Australian traveling team today (Dec. 28).
On Dec. 26, the host 3A Franklin Quakers raced to a 44-21 halftime lead and knocked off Sequim 88-53.
Keith Smith led Franklin with 31 points and Eugene Artison added 21.
Sequim junior Alex Barry led the team with 15 points and Anthony Pinza added 12 points and six assists.
On Dec. 27, Barry led the 2A Sequim squad with 16 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough in a 67-40 loss to 4A Union of Vancouver, Wash. Isaiah Robinson, a 6-foot 9-inch center, led the Titans with 14 points.
Barry was 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Rory Kallappa added nine points.
