Boys basketball: Wolves, Trojans on collision course

Tuesday saw two more Olympic League showdowns, and the frontrunner for the league title remains Sequim … or Olympic.

Sequim hit key free throws down the stretch in a 65-56 win at Bremerton while Olympic rebounded from an early deficit on the road to knock off North Kitsap 70-64, keeping the teams tied atop the league standings at 14-1 with one game remaining.

Sequim plays at Port Townsend Thursday evening while Olympic is at Port Angeles on Friday.

If both teams win, they share the league title and play a playoff tiebreaker at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.

Jason Brocklesby scored 30 points and Alex Barry added 12 as Sequim outlasted Bremerton’s Knights, who remained in third place.

Brocklesby hit four 3-pointers while teammate Gabe Carter had seven rebounds and 10 assists.

Deonte Dixon led Bremerton with 19 points.

Sequim held a 29-28 lead at halftime and 42-40 lead after three quarters.
