Boys tennis: NK edges Sequim in key league match

In a battle of two of the top teams in the Olympic League, North Kitsap managed to eke out a 4-3 win at Sequim on Oct. 4.

The Vikings swept all four doubles matches to earn a season sweep of the Wolves; NK topped Sequim 5-2 on Sept. 14.

SHS’s Connor Bear earned player of the match honors from coach Mark Textor with a three-set win over Andrew Myers in No. 2 singles. After falling to Myers in straight sets in September, Bear rebounded for a 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 win Monday afternoon.

Sequim’s Garrett Little stayed perfect on the season with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jason Hart in No. 1 singles.

Koda Robinson added a win at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Indigo Gallagher, improving to 8-0 on the season.

The Wolves (6-2) had a pair of matches — Sept. 28 versus powerhouse Bainbridge and Sept. 29 at Bremerton — postponed because of weather.

Coming up

Sequim is at North Mason on Oct. 6 and host the Kingston Buccaneers on Oct. 7 and Bainbridge Spartans on Oct. 11.

The Wolves are at Olympic on Oct. 12 and at Bremerton Oct. 13 before capping the regular season with a home match against Port Angeles on Oct. 14.
