Sequim’s Wolves snapped a four-match losing streak with a 5-2 win at Kingston on Oct. 1.
Jack Crecelius, Zach Post and Wyatt Perez each won their singles matches in straight sets, while Lincoln Bear and Mason Rapelje improved to 3-0 as a doubles pair with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Bucs Ben Steel and Ryan Decker, at No. 1 doubles.
Sebastian Buhrer and Isaac McKeen added a tough 7-6, 6-4 win over Kingston’s Paul Fitch and Josh Vanhuis, in their first pairing of the season.
The Wolves (4-4) made it a sweep for the week with a 6-1 win at North Mason, losing only one singles match.
Bear survived a tough 6-4, 7-6 match to take North Mason’s Owen Oblizado in the No. 2 singles spot while Rapelje dominated his No. 3 singles match.
Buhrer and McKeen had the toughest match-up in Sequim’s victory, needing three sets (5-7, 7-5, 6-4) to down Bulldogs Yavier Barajas and Greg Huffman.
Sequim was scheduled to host Bainbridge on Oct. 7.
Looking ahead
The Wolves are at Olympic on Oct. 9 before hosting Port Angeles on Oct. 10 and North Kitsap on Oct. 15.
Sequim closes out the regular season Oct. 17 at Bremerton.
The Olympic League tournament is Oct. 25-26 in Poulsbo.
