Sequim’s boys placed second and SHS’s girls were fourth overall in the Wolves’ second Olympic League meet of the season, held Sept. 21 in Bremerton.
For the third consecutive meet, SHS junior Colby Ellefson placed third (16:48) behind Port Angeles senior Jack Gladfelter (16:31) and Kingston junior Lucas Lenz (16:47).
SHS senior Owen Randall raced to a ninth-place finish in a 5K personal best 18:30, while freshman teammate Colin Feik was 17th overall in 19:36 and sophomore James Mason was 19th (19:39).
On the girls side, SHS junior Kaitlin Bloomenrader finished in 21:42, second only to state standout Salix Wartes-Kahl, a junior from North Kitsap, who won in 20:50. Port Angeles freshman Leia Larson was fourth (22:19).
Sequim High senior Anastasia Updike was 12th in 24:31 while SHS sophomore Nikoline Updike and freshman Ahrya Klinger were 25th and 26th.
The Wolves are at Bainbridge on Sept. 28.
Sequim competes at the 26th John Payne / Curtis XC Invitational on Oct. 1.
