Girls Bowling: Two girls travel to Tacoma for districts

Sequim’s Dakota Henderson and Destiny Staus advance to the West Central District III bowling tournament this weekend after a strong showing in Silverdale.

Henderson took eighth and Staus ninth at the Olympic League meet on Jan. 19 at All-Star Lanes.

Between them, Henderson averaged 161.67 with a three-game spread of 185, 147 and 153, while Staus averaged 152 with a 143, 158 and 155.

Olympic’s Ashlynn Jamrog took first averaging 234.7 with a three-game spread of 185, 299 and 220.

Overall Sequim took fifth place out of five teams while Olympic took first. Other Sequim participants at the League Tournament included Haille Smith, Flora Walchenbach, Isabelle Dennis, Quinn Danielson and Porter Funston.

Henderson and Staus vie for state berths at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma on Saturday, Jan. 28.
