Four Wolves are looking to make a splash in the postseason as Sequim’s girls swimming squad preps for the West Central District meet set for Nov. 4-5 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
Each member of the quartet — a group that has a swimmer at each grade level — will swim in two individual events, as well as the 200 medley and 400 freestyle medley relays.
Senior Hi’ilei Robinson will swim the 50 free and 100 free, while junior Natalie Cross swims the 200 free and 500 free.
Sophomore Melia Nelson swims the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, while freshman Annie Ellefson will swim the 00 breaststroke and 200 freestyle.
“[We’re] hoping we can get a few swims on to state,” Sequim coach Britt Hemphill said.
Top event swimmers and those with qualifying marks earn spots at the state 2A swim and dive championships, set for Nov. 10-12 at The King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
