Joining a trio of Wolves who had already qualified for state tournaments is Pryce Glasser, whose round of 86 at the bi-district tourney on May 17 in Sequim earned the senior a second alternate berth.
Sequim’s other boys state qualifiers — seniors Ben Sweet and Dominic Riccobene and junior Cole Smithson — were scheduled to tee off at the two-day state 2A tournament at Capitol City Golf Club in Olympia on May 24, with about half of the field qualifying to compete in the second day.
Sequim senior Hannah Wagner was scheduled to start her two-day state tournament at Tumwater Valley Golf Course in Tumwater that same day.
Sequim’s Julissa Julmist shot a 103, Emily Post a 116 and Sydney Price a 116 at districts last week.
Prep golfers were competing in state meets this week for the first time since 2019; the 2020 season was canceled because of the COVID pandemic, and regional tourneys were held in 2021.
Sequim’s boys finished second overall in the 2019 state tourney behind Ridgefield; Sweet tied for 21st overall, one of three Sequim players to advance to the second day. Sequim’s girls had one player advance to state that year (Brittany Gale).
