Sequim’s Lucy Spelker was Sequim’s lone competitor at the class 1A/2A/3A Gymnastics state meet’s first day on Feb. 20 at Sammamish High School.
Spelker, a junior, led Sequim to place 36th as a team, and she placed 88th overall.
In the floor, she tied for 50th with a score of 8.825, and she tied for 69th on the beam with a score of 7.3. Spelker also competed in the bars and vault.
She qualified at the District 3 championship in February in four events with a season high 9.225 score in the floor.
Spelker qualified for state last year and placed 69th in all-around scoring with 24.575 points, and she tied for 56th on the beam (8.25 points), tied for 71st in the vault (8.25), and tied for 82nd (8.125) on the floor exercise.
Through the season, Spelker competed with the Port Angeles/Sequim gymnastics team.
Port Angeles’ Ryah DeLeon qualified for state on the vault but did not compete, according to state results.
