The Klahhane Level 3 and 4 teams competed at the Bainbridge Challenge on Jan. 19.
The Level 3 team of Morgan Mattix, Kori Miller, Susannah Sharp, Jolene Vaara and Lainy Vig placed second in the team competition.
In the 8 and under age group, Sharp took first on vault (8.9) and Vaara was first on floor exercise (8.525).
In the 9-year-old age group, Vig took first on vault (9.0) and third in All-Around points (33.250) while Miller was first on floor exercise (9.0). Mattix took second place on vault (8.9) and floor exercise (8.975) and was second in All-Around (33.525). Mattix and Vig qualified for the North Sectional meet by scoring more than 33.0 points in All-Around for the second time in the season.
In Level 4 action, Emma Sharp competing in the 11-year-old age group took first on floor exercise (8.975) and third in All-Around (34.55). In the 10-year-old age group, Anne Edwards took second on floor exercise (8.75) and in All-Around scoring (33.55), followed by Zoe Smithson taking second on uneven bars (8.2) and fourth in All-Around (33.025). Gracie Sharp was eighth (32.325) in the 10-year-old age group, improving her all-around score by a full point. Edwards, Sharp and Smithson all achieved their second sectional qualifying scores.
The Klahhane Gymnastics Level 2 Team took second place at the Go for the Gold Invitational hosted by Black Hills Gymnastics in Lacey in late January. In the 6-7-year-old age group, Taryn Johnson was fourth in the all-around (31.70 points) and took an individual third on vault (8.45). Elena Gonzalez took third on the balance beam (8.45) and Kinzley Henrickson was fourth on vault (8.0).
In the 8-year-old age group, Nora Ferré placed fourth all-around (31.2), with a second-place finish on vault (8.3). Ariana VanVarden was fourth on balance beam (8.3) and Dylan Baerman tied for fourth on floor exercise (7.7)
