Little comes up big, places fourth at national Elks Hoop Shoot competition

Garrett Little made a bit of history with a series of well-aimed free throws this April.

The Sequim 12-year-old sank 23 of 25 shots and hit another seven of 10 in a tiebreaker to place fourth overall in the Boys 12-13 division at the Elks National Hoop Shoot Competition, held April 27 in Chicago, Ill.

Little hit eight of 10 shots in the first round before going a perfect 15-for-15 in round two.

Cameron Elwer of Lima, Ohio, won the Boys 12-13 division after sinking all 25 shots.

Little’s effort will be permanently featured on the Elks’ website as a national finalist, Elks representatives said.

”Sequim Elks Lodge #2642 is proud to have you represent us at the national level,” said Charlie Johnson, Exalted Ruler of Sequim Elks #2642, in an email. “Garrett, you are a true asset to the Sequim community.”
