The Seattle Mariners’ "Olympic Peninsula Appreciation Night," set for Saturday, Aug. 7, invites peninsula residents to watch the Mariners and Kansas City Royals play, offering discounted tickets and more.

In a tongue-in-cheek press release from the Mariners, residents of "Forks, LaPush, Port Angeles and the towns of the Olympic Peninsula that have survived the invasion of vampires and werewolves into their community" may receive discounts on tickets: $18 for a view reserved ticket, regularly $22.

The evening is held in conjunction with "Vampire Night at Safeco Field," celebrating the popularity of the "Twilight Saga" and "Vampire Diaries."

Game attendees may:

_ attend an exclusive pregame happy hour for vampire fans only with specially-priced garlic fries and "red beverages"

_ receive a free "I knew where Forks was before vampires" T-shirt

_ win prizes if dressed as their favorite vampire-related character and,

_ meet popular vampire character impersonators.

Port Angeles High School’s Vocal Unlimited will perform the national anthem, and Forks High School cheerleaders are set to make a special appearance.
