Neon Riders host 4-H horse show

Last weekend, the Neon Riders 4-H Club hosted a 4-H horse show, both as an individual competition and as preparation for the 4-H competition coming up in August at the Clallam County Fair.

The three-day show had a number of different events, including English dressage, western dressage, equitation instruction, and pleasure riding classes. The group also had a potluck and group games both with and without horses on Saturday night.

Emily Menshew of the Silver Sours club won the senior division, with Taylor Maughn from the Pony Express Club winning top marks in the intermediate division. The juniors division was won by Neon Riders’ Paige Reed, while the hosts also had two winners in horse walking competitions with Quincy Hart and Katelynn Sharpe. The top green rider of the day was Ryan petty of the Giddy Up and Grow club.

Neon Riders organizer Katie Salmon said that it was a fun weekend for all the participants.
